Sigh. This article is so depressing to me for so many reasons. I think part of what is so sad is that I can’t even decide if the whole program is a terrible idea or not. Obviously, there are huge giant problems with something like this: it’s a waste of money that could be used to promote eating natural foods, it’s run entirely by the same food companies whose foods are being labeled, and nevermind the fact that you absolutely CAN judge the nutritional merits of a food product based on one ingredient! ANYWAYS, I guess I can’t say if it’s completely terrible just because I don’t have children, I’m not in a huge rush when I prepare my meals, and I don’t have to be super strict with my food budget. And these are not small things.
I guess it makes me depressed because it’s such a stupid waste of resources. Also, let people eat Froot Loops in the morning if they want to, but don’t trick them into thinking they’re eating something healthy.
